About The Position

The Engineer, Digital Transformation role enables continuous evolution of the MedTech R&D product lifecycle and digital thread by developing sector-wide processes and digital platforms (PLM, ALM, CAD, Digital Adoption, Design Engagement). You will help build and steward the foundational infrastructure for MedTech R&D and layer adaptive, data-driven, and increasingly autonomous capabilities on top. Working cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and IT, you will deliver scalable digital capabilities that improve speed, quality, and user experience while balancing operational stability and future innovation. Accountability for value delivery, platform stewardship, and continuous improvement is central to this role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, Advanced Degree strongly preferred.
  • Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Solid understanding of product development, NPI, and lifecycle R&D processes
  • Hands-on experience with PLM, ALM, CAD, and/or digital thread concepts
  • Experience with enterprise digital platforms, R&D systems, or working in regulated environments
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and IT
  • Strong systems thinking, learning agility, and problem-solving mindset
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering complex capabilities and driving outcomes

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to automation, data platforms, or intelligent digital capabilities (e.g., analytics, ML-enabled tooling, integration automation)
  • Experience working in global or multi-business environments
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more digital capability areas (platform configuration, integrations, data models, governance)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical work
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, configuration, enhancement, and operation of digital capabilities across R&D systems
  • Architect and implement capabilities that enable the digital thread across front-end R&D, product development/NPI, and lifecycle R&D
  • Act as a subject matter expert in one or more functional or technical domains
  • Support business onboarding, migrations, and adoption of enterprise R&D digital platforms
  • Drive platform onboarding activities, migration execution, user adoption, documentation, and standards
  • Prepare and share knowledge artifacts, run workshops, and train stakeholders
  • Identify and enable automation, adaptive, and data-driven digital capabilities
  • Surface opportunities for automation and intelligent capabilities, participate in pilots and proofs-of-concept
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and evaluate emerging technologies
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and stakeholders, driving continuous improvement across multiple stakeholders or processes
  • Maintain accountability for delivering measurable business value, platform stewardship, and ongoing improvements
