About The Position

The Junior CNC Process Engineer supports quotation and engineering activities by interpreting drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to identify required processing steps. The role estimates machining cycle times, tooling, and equipment costs; collaborates with Manufacturing Process Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to develop cost estimates; completes Cost Estimation Worksheets (CEWs); works with Sales on quotation letters; creates CAD drawings; assists with engineering assignments; and prepares cost data summaries.

The position also supports facility compliance with applicable legislative requirements, the Global Operating System Plays, ISO 14001:2004, TS 16949, and Linamar Quality Basics. It promotes Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors, contributes to performance aligned with the company’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy, and supports departmental lean initiatives and 5S requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable legislative requirements, the Global Operating System Plays, ISO 14001:2004, TS 16949, and Linamar Quality Basics.
• Support, foster, promote, and demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
• Help balance customer, employee, and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility and department performance indicators in alignment with Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
• Support and maintain departmental lean initiatives under LPS system requirements and maintain department 5S requirements.
• Read drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to determine required processing steps.
• Estimate metal-cutting machining cycle times and tooling and equipment costs for quotations.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Process Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to develop cost estimates.
• Complete Cost Estimation Worksheets (CEWs) as required for quotations.
• Work with the Sales team to develop quotation letters.
• Create CAD drawings and assist with engineering assignments as required.
• Prepare summaries of cost data.
