Engineer/Analyst- Healthcare
About The Position
St. Onge is seeking an Engineer/Analyst to join their growing Healthcare team. This role involves helping hospitals and healthcare systems optimize various operations such as supply chain, sterile processing, logistics, and support service spaces. The position offers an opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in healthcare consulting, facility planning, and operations improvement by working with experienced consultants and engineers to collect and analyze data, evaluate performance, design processes and layouts, and develop solutions. The Engineer/Analyst will be a key member of the Healthcare team, responsible for collecting and analyzing client data using proprietary tools, performing engineering analyses related to healthcare operations, manipulating data with various software, developing facility layouts and cost estimates, creating process maps, communicating with clients, preparing reports, and supporting the planning and design of healthcare facilities and distribution centers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field
- 0-2 years of professional experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Nice To Haves
- Co-op, internship, or project experience in healthcare, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, consulting, or a related industry
- Experience conducting cost analysis, facility layout design, inventory analysis, or process improvement projects
- Exposure to hospital, healthcare, warehouse, or manufacturing environments
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, and analyze client data using proprietary St. Onge healthcare tools and analytical methods
- Perform engineering analyses related to healthcare supply chain operations, sterile processing, logistics, and material handling systems
- Manipulate and evaluate data using databases, spreadsheets, and in-house software tools
- Develop facility layouts, staffing calculations, capital cost estimates, and alternative evaluations
- Create process flow maps and identify opportunities for operational improvement
- Communicate directly with clients during data collection and analysis efforts
- Develop presentations and communicate project findings to clients and project teams
- Assist in the preparation of final reports and other project deliverables
- Participate in client site visits, data collection activities, and project meetings
- Support the planning and design of hospitals, medical facilities, and centralized healthcare distribution and warehouse operations
