About The Position

A major aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking hands-on engineering talent for solid rocket motor (SRM) programs. The Engineer Aeronautical 3 will perform project engineering for solid-propellant rocket motor programs involving launch vehicles, missiles, and space applications. The position includes designing SRM assemblies and components, performing performance and sizing calculations, producing detailed fabrication drawings, and supporting analysis and test validation. The engineer will work with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams. The position is onsite in Elkton, Maryland, and is listed for a 12-month duration from 10/31/2026 through 10/30/2027.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• A bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 2 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. and 1 year of relevant experience.
• Background in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.

Nice To Haves

• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with rocketry, solid rocket motors, propulsion, missiles, flight vehicles, or energetics.
• Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter (CAD/PLM).
• Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009), DFA, or DFM.
• Two professional references are preferred.
