The Aeronautical Engineer performs Durability and Damage Tolerance (DaDT) and fatigue analysis, detail-part sizing, and strength assessments of aircraft primary and secondary structures and systems. The role uses crack-initiation and crack-growth analysis tools for design sizing, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, drawing review, and preparation of analysis reports. It also develops force-management source data to help manage the airframe and ensure safe operation, and develops and implements Force Structural Maintenance Plans (FSMPs) and Individual Aircraft Tracking (IAT) to support force-management activities. The engineer applies fracture-mechanics methods to complex technical problems and performs airframe structural stress and fatigue analysis. The position applies knowledge of structural load paths and aircraft structural behavior, using engineering drawing practices, material properties, and manufacturing processes in analysis. It supports aircraft maintenance requirements and applies Navy and Air Force Service Life Analysis criteria. This is a 12-month contract with potential for extension, located in Fort Worth, Texas. The role requires an active Secret security clearance to start and U.S. Person eligibility under ITAR. The stated shift is 4/10-A, and the pay rate is $120 per hour.
