Engineer 1 - Room Call Mechanic
About The Position
The Engineer 1 - Room Call Mechanic handles guest calls and work orders for maintenance issues in guest rooms and other property areas. The role requires direct guest interaction, the ability to prioritize multiple requests, and a professional, energetic, and proactive approach. Duties include basic plumbing, electrical, and handyman repairs; participation in larger projects as business levels allow; and pool and spa maintenance. Team Members may also assist in other Facilities department areas as needed. This is a uniformed position requiring compliance with uniform appearance standards while on duty.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of facilities maintenance experience in hospitality or a related field.
- Ability to perform light plumbing and electrical repairs and basic handyman work.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize calls and work orders.
- Ability to sustain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive, strategic approach to issues.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with Team Members at all levels.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities
- Respond to guest calls and work orders, prioritizing multiple requests as needed.
- Unclog toilets and drains, replace light bulbs, repair leaking plumbing fixtures, and replace light switches and receptacles in guest rooms and other property areas.
- Perform light plumbing and electrical repairs and basic handyman work.
- Participate in larger projects as business levels allow.
- Help maintain pools and spas.
- Assist in other areas of the Facilities department when needed.
- Interact with guests and communicate effectively with Team Members at all organizational levels.
- Follow uniformed appearance standards while on duty.
