About The Position

Assist with general workshop activities while completing on the job and classroom based training. We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician - TAP to join our Distribution business in Omaha, NE. Will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools

Requirements

TAP Training
A current valid license is required for this role
Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
Secondary school diploma or equivalent
Minimal level of work shop experience required or basic level knowledge of engine products
Basic mechanical knowledge

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Responsibilities

Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
