The Engine Core Calibration Engineer defines, improves, and deploys model-based and physics-based calibration methods for gasoline engine applications. The role creates repeatable workflows, templates, validation criteria, and model-correlation methods that enable application calibrators to deliver SS Nominal, SS Emissions, Off-Nominal, and Transient Calibration. It bridges physical system behavior, simulation models, and production-intent quality expectations. The engineer leads gasoline base-calibration methodology and related emissions, off-nominal, and transient methods; develops model-based approaches and correlation practices; and defines release-readiness and validation standards. The role also standardizes toolchain use, strengthens root-cause analysis and issue resolution, mentors engineers, and aligns Center of Excellence and cross-functional teams around consistent documentation and repeatable calibration workflows.
