About The Position

Engine Management Systems supports the development, calibration, implementation, validation, and maintenance of performance and emissions (P&E), onboard diagnostics (OBD) strategies, and engine control systems for diesel or gasoline powertrain applications. This role collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams to develop performance and emissions calibrations, conduct testing and validation, support diagnostic calibrations and regulatory compliance activities, and assist with calibration development plans. The position provides guidance to more junior staff and contributes to engine calibration and development strategy, calibration integration, certification support, and issue resolution while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company standards. Extensive independent judgment is required. The role supports engine calibration development plans and project deliverables; develops, validates, and troubleshoots engine and exhaust system performance and emissions strategies and calibrations; and assists with OBD calibration and validation. It develops and maintains calibration data for assigned powertrain programs, supports integration of engine controls software and calibration features, and collaborates with engineering and product development teams to resolve issues. The position also supports communications about requirements, timing, and technical issues; regulatory compliance activities; competitor benchmarking; and research into emerging technologies and regulations. The position is based in Plymouth, Michigan, and requires full-time on-site work. It involves 10–15% domestic and international travel, including overnight stays. The work is primarily sedentary in a controlled office environment, with regular hands-on validation and development work on medium-duty commercial vehicles.
