The Engine Core Calibration Engineer defines, improves, and deploys model-based and physics-based calibration methods for gasoline engine applications. The role creates repeatable workflows, templates, validation criteria, and model-correlation methods that enable application calibrators to deliver SS Nominal, SS Emissions, Off-Nominal, and Transient Calibration. It bridges physical system behavior, simulation models, and production-intent quality expectations. The engineer leads calibration methodology, establishes release-readiness and validation standards, develops and guides virtual models, and defines methods for correlating simulation results with physical data. The role also standardizes toolchain use, creates structured root-cause and issue-resolution resources, mentors engineers, and aligns Center of Excellence and cross-functional teams around consistent, reusable calibration practices.
