Engagement Manager - Cloud Transformation (Federal)

SZNS SolutionsReston, VA
Hybrid

About The Position

SZNS Solutions is expanding its cloud practice and is seeking exceptional individuals to join their team. The company focuses on transforming customers with technology, leveraging an engineering-first approach, expertise in GCP and agentic AI, and a commitment to quality in government contracting. The Engagement Manager will be responsible for overseeing federal cloud engagements from start to finish. These programs are large, involving multiple workstreams, delivery teams, and stakeholders. The role requires the individual to have a comprehensive view of all efforts, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. This includes organizing meetings, creating documentation, managing relationships, and ensuring engineering delivery teams meet engagement commitments. The Engagement Manager must understand software delivery well enough to hold engineering teams accountable, ask pertinent technical questions, and provide accurate status updates to customers. They will act as the primary point of contact, building trust with customer and partner teams while representing SZNS. Additionally, the role involves understanding the customer's account, identifying future opportunities, and proactively informing SZNS leadership. This is a consultative role focused on understanding customer missions, identifying unmet needs, and shaping them into new scope. Success in this role is measured by the growth of the account through effective program management and building trusted relationships.

Requirements

  • A track record of excellence in whatever you've pursued.
  • Extreme attention to detail. You catch things others miss.
  • High bias for action. You figure things out and move fast.
  • Strong organizational instincts. You can track many parallel efforts without dropping any.
  • Enough understanding of software delivery to hold an engineering team to a schedule: what's actually done, what's at risk, and what a demo is really showing.
  • Judgment about how a services business runs: what a SOW commits us to, what falls outside it, and when something needs a change request.
  • Excellent communication skills: crisp documentation, clean slides, and the ability to talk to both executives and technical teams.
  • Relationship-building chops. You'll be the trusted contact for a lot of people.
  • A consultative instinct. You spot where a customer needs more help than they've asked for, and you can shape it into scope.
  • Comfort representing SZNS while working day to day inside someone else's team, whether that's the customer's program or a partner's account team.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building structure where none exists.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GCP technically, enough to speak credibly about the various efforts and what they're for.
  • Experience in or around federal or public sector programs.
  • Prior program or project management experience at scale.
  • GCP Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Run federal cloud engagements end to end.
  • Keep tabs on every effort underway, knowing who's doing what and why.
  • Organize and attend meetings across workstreams.
  • Build documentation, assets, and slides to keep everyone aligned.
  • Manage the relationships that hold the program together.
  • Ensure engineering delivery teams are meeting engagement commitments.
  • Track delivery against SOW commitments and identify gaps.
  • Provide status updates on all efforts.
  • Act as the read on the account: identify customer's next steps, stalling efforts, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Keep SZNS leadership current on account status.
  • Understand a customer's mission well enough to identify areas for further assistance and shape them into scope.
  • Build trust with customer and partner teams.
  • Represent SZNS while working within customer or partner teams.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Hybrid work environment (MWF in-person in our Reston office), remote possible depending on candidate fit
