The Engagement and Education Manager is a strategic, relationship-driven professional who will lead and grow dynamic community education initiatives that foster wellbeing and belonging across the Jewish community and beyond. This role blends big-picture vision with hands-on execution—designing and facilitating impactful programs, building partnerships with synagogues and community organizations, and supervising a few key staff members. The ideal candidate brings experience in education, community engagement, and/or event planning; a strong foundation in inclusive, audience-centered pedagogy; and a passion for supporting individuals and families at meaningful life stages through engaging and values-driven programming. This role is based out of the JFCS Golden Valley office and will lead programs and build relationships in both the east and west metro areas. The position requires flexibility to attend agency events on some evenings and weekends. Requirements

Minimum of three years in education, community engagement, Jewish organizations, and/or event planning
Management experience supervising direct report(s) strongly preferred
Volunteer recruitment and management strongly preferred
Working in or volunteering with the Twin Cities Jewish community is strongly preferred
Expertise in family life education, mental health, and/or Jewish adult education is preferred
Strategic and imaginative big-picture thinker adept at managing day-to-day operations
Deep understanding of educational and pedagogical approaches tailored to diverse audiences
Effective supervisor – in coaching, supporting, and holding staff accountable for meeting performance expectations
Skilled in detail-driven event planning and intentional group facilitation
Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills in both individual and group settings
Effective in fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment
Ability to be attuned and responsive to the needs and interests of diverse audiences across the Twin Cities Jewish community
Proven ability to establish and nurture strategic partnerships with community organizations, synagogues, and topic experts
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Punctual and reliable attendance
Creative problem solver and resourceful team member
Adaptive self-starter who anticipates needs, responds proactively, and can manage multiple priorities and timelines at once
Proficient in Microsoft Office and utilizing technology to streamline team collaboration

Willingness and flexibility to lead events and workshops during some evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

Design and Implement Strategic Community Education Programs (60%) Develop and manage an impactful, dynamic program calendar of educational workshops, trainings, and support circles that cultivate wellbeing and belonging.
Collaborate with community partners, synagogues, JFCS program staff members, and topic experts to intentionally craft meaningful and inclusive educational experiences.
Assess needs and opportunities to support specific audiences in the Jewish and broader communities at meaningful life milestones, such as expecting parents, teens preparing for college, new grandparents, engaged couples, and beyond.
Build strong relationships with synagogue staff and clergy members, community leaders, guest educators and facilitators, and program participants across the Twin Cities through strategic outreach, one-on-one meetings, and ongoing relational engagement.
Represent JFCS through regular attendance at community events and meetings in Minneapolis and St. Paul areas.
Generate and share new wisdom about parenting, family life, caregiving, mental health, and/or community inclusion through a Jewish lens by writing for the JFCS Blog and Advice Corner, presenting at community conferences and workshops, and developing new strategic channels for educational reach.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on program outcomes and participant feedback.
Supervise and Support Key Staff (35%) Provide responsive, supportive supervision for up to 3 FTE Engagement and Education program staff members.
Share ongoing insights and updates with the Director to help inform broader program strategy, resource allocation, and team operations.
Offer day-of support for large department events and programs.
Contribute to Workplace Community (5%) Participate in team/agency meetings, retreats, and trainings.
Actively contribute to the agency community by participating in committees, workgroups, or other collaborative efforts that support agency goals and foster a positive work environment.
