About The Position

The Engineering Productivity/Sustainability & Food Safety Team is seeking a Supply Chain Associate Principal Engineer to manage Productivity CapEx initiatives. This role involves executing engineering solutions to increase Frito-Lay’s product portfolio capacity, which may include installing new manufacturing lines or modifying existing production equipment across process, packaging, warehouse, facilities, and utilities. The position requires participation in and leadership of cross-functional teams, including plant personnel, equipment vendors, and engineering/construction contractors. Key responsibilities include defining manufacturing and unit operation needs, applying engineering principles to problem-solving and managing changes, managing project budgets and schedules, overseeing procurement, and developing/executing equipment installation and start-up plans. The role also involves managing multiple project deliverables, accelerated timelines, competing priorities, and mitigating project risks. Expected travel is between 35% to 40%.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering
• 7+ years of professional experience
• Technical curiosity with a desire to continuously learn
• Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, aggressive, results-oriented culture
• Ability to lead and drive an agenda to deliver results
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate well with project stakeholders including senior leadership and cross-functional partners

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering solutions to bring additional capacity to Frito-Lay’s portfolio of products.
• Participate in and lead cross-functional teams of colleagues and outside resources, including plant personnel, equipment vendors, engineering and construction contractors.
• Define manufacturing and unit operation needs for project scope requirements and documentation.
• Apply Engineering principles to problem solving and managing unexpected changes.
• Manage costs by developing project budgets, maintaining cost tracking tools and actively controlling project costs to deliver project cost requirements.
• Create project funding documents.
• Demonstrate time management skills by developing project timelines, maintaining time management tools in multiple formats and actively controlling project schedules, ensuring project schedule attainment.
• Manage procurement including analyzing quotes, writing procurement documents and tracking project procurement information.
• Develop and leverage technical specifications and writing inspection acceptance test plans.
• Develop, manage and execute equipment installation and start-up plans while supervising outside contractors and vendors.
• Manage multiple project deliverables, accelerated timelines and competing priorities.
• Adequately manage, communicate and mitigate project risks.
