About The Position

The Enforcement Specialist (Specialist) is a key-advisor within the Enforcement function of the BCER. The Specialist is responsible for facilitating the development of high quality, defensible enforcement decisions, and supporting documentation. Working collaboratively with Legal Services, the Vice President of Compliance & Operations, and BCER Enforcement Technical Staff, the Specialist reviews enforcement case file reports, develops and drafts administrative decisions and supports enforcement orders as required. The Specialist assists staff to interpret and implement legislation, advises leadership and Executive in oil and gas related matters, and, in conjunction with Regulatory Affairs, coordinates requests for internal and external legal advice. The Specialist also ensures all documentation to be posted publicly meets the requirements of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA).

Responsibilities
