The Enforcement Counsel resolves non-complex Enforcement matters and contributes meaningful high-quality work for large complex matters. This role involves executing risk-based legal strategies, assessing evidence, recommending fair outcomes, identifying risks and liabilities, and negotiating settlements. The counsel will also contribute to internal legal strategy discussions, assist in litigation preparation, conduct witness examinations, and draft analytical and advocacy documents. A key aspect of the role is achieving foreseeable and transparent Enforcement outcomes in non-complex matters, including recommending charges and sanctions consistent with FINRA’s priorities. The position requires timely resolution of matters, effective case management, and collaboration with investigative staff to develop a sound factual record. The counsel will also provide legal advice, ensure written descriptions are supported by the record, and objectively review evidence. The role involves working with supervision on non-complex matters and contributing to team-based projects, keeping managers informed, and leveraging precedents.
