About The Position

Trains and works to generate profitable sales to new and existing customers in the assigned territory through sales, target marketing, competitive analysis, providing value-added energy products, services, and recommendations, ensuring the credit worthiness of customers, and promoting credit programs as marketing tools.

Requirements

  • Normally requires an associate’s degree in business, or marketing related discipline or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of sales experience.
  • Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Proven computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.
  • Successful experience building customer relationships and achieving sales goals.
  • Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and passport with the ability to work extended hours and travel independently overnight.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new sales opportunities within assigned territory by prospecting and pursuing targeted new business.
  • Negotiate and close new patrons to increase customer base year-over-year.
  • Develop and leverage customer relationships with businesses and industry entities such as real estate companies, home builder associations and other trades and organizations to cultivate new business strategic partnerships.
  • Participate in trade shows and other related events; actively participate in industry and civic organizations to continually build a professional network.
  • Follow up on sales leads, which could include cold calling, initiation of mailings and other related activities to prospects generated by external sources or leads.
  • Follow-up on new accounts to gauge customer satisfaction.
  • Manage existing customer relationships with regular courtesy contacts to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction with guidance from management.
  • Work closely with local store management and service/delivery personnel focused on customer service and growth as a top priority.
  • Develop an account retention program that builds customer loyalty by conducting periodic visits with key accounts.
  • Diligently document sales prospect activity on a weekly basis, including profile information sheets.
  • Travels to client locations within assigned territory to establish brand and obtain orders for products and services.
  • Develops territory and competitive analysis to maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition.
  • Adheres to GROWMARK FS’s sales and marketing strategies and attends sales trainings as offered.
  • Responsible for meeting sales goals as established by supervisor.
  • Conducts sales interviews, identifies customer needs and if agronomy opportunities are discovered, share the lead with the appropriate team.
  • Ensures the credit worthiness of customers, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Promotes the use of credit programs as a sales tool and helps provide the required information to establish credit.
  • Attend and participate in service and safety training and other educational programs offered by the company.
  • Adheres to the uniform policy and maintains an appropriate professional image.
  • Collects for sales of all assigned products according to company credit policy.
  • Develops technical and sales skills in accordance with certification standards.
  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
