Under general direction, this position performs a variety of tasks related to the optimization, nomination, balancing, and invoicing of fuel and electrical energy sales, purchases and transportation. This role involves forecasting market trends, optimizing purchases, allocating purchases according to contracts, and executing energy risk management transactions. The analyst will also be responsible for nominating and scheduling daily energy and natural gas volumes, monitoring consumption and transportation imbalances, and performing Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) bidding and scheduling functions. Additionally, the position monitors ERCOT transmission congestion, issues dispatch orders, coordinates generating unit status, and supports the ERCOT market design and development process. Analysis of monthly reports on power and fuel purchases, sales, and risk activity is also a key function.
