About The Position

The Wind Turbine Technician Instructor provides classroom and hands-on instruction to prepare students for entry-level careers in the wind energy industry. The instructor delivers technical training in wind turbine systems, electrical and mechanical systems, troubleshooting, safety, climbing and rescue activities, and applicable Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training while maintaining a safe, engaging, and student-focused learning environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of practical work experience in the field required.
  • Complete power distribution, branch circuit wiring, conduit bending, lighting layouts, service panel upgrades, load calculations, and troubleshooting for single-phase and multi-phase commercial setups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively connect with students and fellow staff
  • A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, understanding that every student learns at their own pace

Nice To Haves

  • Energy/ Wind/ Electrical Journeyman/Licensed Technician
  • NCCER Certified Instructor
  • associate or bachelor's degree in a related field a plus
  • Excludes teaching experience.

  • Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real-world experience in diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
  • Collaborate with our education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements.
  • Guide and mentor students on their projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
  • Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.
