About The Position

As an Energy Equity Marketing & Communications Intern, you will support KC3’s outreach, marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement efforts across clean energy, affordable housing, workforce development, and community engagement initiatives. About KC3 Kinetic Communities Consulting Corporation (KC3) is a M/WBE B Corp-certified consulting firm that partners with utilities, government agencies, affordable housing organizations, and community-based organizations to expand access to clean energy programs in underserved communities. Job Overview Reporting directly to KC3’s Events & Marketing Manager, you will gain hands-on experience creating communications materials, supporting marketing campaigns, developing visual content, and helping translate complex sustainability topics into accessible and engaging messaging for diverse audiences. This internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to careers in marketing, communications, community engagement, clean energy, and mission-driven consulting. Interns will collaborate with staff across multiple teams and contribute to real-world client and organizational initiatives. Interns should be comfortable working remotely with periodic in-person meetings, events, trainings, and project activities throughout New York City. This is a part-time position expected to average approximately 20 hours per week during the academic year.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, journalism, digital media, advertising, business, or a related field.
Local to the New York City metropolitan area and able to attend occasional in-person meetings, events, and activities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Experience with Canva or similar graphic design platforms.
Commitment to racial equity, housing justice, economic mobility, environmental justice, and community-centered approaches to problem solving.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development of marketing, communications, and outreach materials for KC3 programs, events, and initiatives.
Draft content for newsletters, email campaigns, social media posts, presentations, and other communications channels.
Help translate clean energy, sustainability, and community engagement topics into clear, accessible, and engaging content for a variety of audiences.
Support the development and execution of communications strategies that increase awareness of KC3’s projects, services, and impact.
Create and update visual content using Canva and other graphic design tools, including flyers, infographics, newsletters, social media graphics, and event materials.
Support promotion of community events, workshops, webinars, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Participate in events, meetings, and outreach activities as appropriate, supporting communications, logistics, and follow-up efforts.
Help maintain KC3 marketing templates, branding standards, and communications resources.
Conduct research on marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement, and clean energy industry trends to support organizational initiatives.
Collaborate with staff across multiple teams and disciplines to support project goals and communications efforts.
Participate in mentorship, training, team meetings, and other professional development opportunities.
