About The Position

Citizens Energy Group is hiring an Energy Distribution Engineering Intern to assist Energy Distribution Engineering staff, including support staff, project engineers, project coordinators, managers, and directors. The intern will provide data analysis, risk assessment review, and technical support, and may work within Energy Engineering Design or Energy Construction Engineering.

Citizens' Internship Program gives undergraduate students hands-on experience on projects supporting the business and its communities. Interns also participate in professional development activities, networking events, mentorship opportunities, and site visits. Some positions may offer hybrid flexibility, but interns are expected to attend required in-person program events during the summer.

Requirements

• Currently attend a college or university, with emphasis in engineering, data analysis, business management, construction management, or a related field.
• Ability to work remotely and access a Citizens local office.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Windows 10, Office Suite, and ARC GIS is preferred.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with project managers, staff engineers, and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and apply departmental design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and Citizens policies and procedures.
• Develop an understanding of and comply with the Citizens Quality Program.
• Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
• Contribute to less complex engineering deliverables, including drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods and principles.
• Focus on the needs of internal clients, particularly project team leadership, while developing a basic understanding of external clients' interests and drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
