About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician provides endoscopy duties under the direction of the RN and Endoscopy Technician, as well as secretarial duties in SDCU. The role includes setting up and maintaining endoscopic equipment; meticulously cleaning, decontaminating, handling, and storing equipment; and assisting the physician as directed during procedures. The technician provides age-appropriate care to the patient population and helps maintain department efficiency by ordering and organizing supplies and facilitating communication and order. Secretarial duties include assisting with the flow of information through the department, maintaining the office area, and setting up charts. The technician must be self-motivated, flexible enough to accommodate daily schedule changes, and able to provide on-call coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience as a CNA with some knowledge of outpatient or surgical care.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain endoscopic equipment.
• Clean and decontaminate endoscopic equipment meticulously, and handle and store it appropriately.
• Assist the physician as directed during procedures.
• Provide age-appropriate care to the patient population.
• Order and organize supplies to help maintain department efficiency.
• Facilitate communication and order within the department.
• Assist with the flow of information through the department.
• Maintain the office area and set up charts.
• Provide on-call coverage and adapt to daily schedule changes.
