About The Position

Under the guidance and/or direction of an RN or physician, the Endoscopy Technician assists in nursing care and prepares endoscopy patients by performing routine and delegated duties according to Medical Center and department standards and policies. The position is based in the Endoscopy department at Arnot Ogden Medical Center and reports to the Unit Director.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Some physical effort is required, including lifting and moving heavy objects, reaching, stooping, and being on one's feet during intermittent workflow.

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant, Sterile Processing Technician, or Surgical Technician experience or qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

Use effective communication and coordination methods and skills, following established lines of authority.
Collaborate and use a team approach with Endoscopy Suite staff and staff from other AOMC departments.
Communicate patient needs or changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate RN, physician, or other healthcare team member.
Help maintain effective, coordinated communication among patients, nursing staff, physicians, office staff, Patient Registration Services, and other AOMC personnel.
Report irregularities in routine that may require evaluation and problem solving to the RN and/or Unit Director.
