About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician works in the Endoscopy Department at Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The role prepares patients for procedures, interprets and reports test results, monitors patients before, during, and after procedures, and prepares and maintains equipment, supplies, and the lab area. The position is full-time on the day shift.

Requirements

• Obtain BLS Provider credential within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer. American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
• Meet one of the following education and experience combinations: high school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience; an associate's degree or technical degree; or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing medical history and appropriately positioning patients.
• Clean, shave, or numb testing sites as appropriate.
• Interpret, describe, and report test results.
• Recognize recording errors and artifacts and respond appropriately.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and promptly report abnormal findings in a patient's condition.
• Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and the lab area.
