About The Position

This position is for a locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Endocrinology. The role involves providing float coverage, primarily in Bonita, with the possibility of extending to other sites. The initial contract is for 3 months, with potential for extension, starting immediately upon credentialing. The practice environment is an outpatient clinic, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including a one-hour lunch break. The role includes managing a diverse patient population with a focus on endocrinology, including Type I and Type II diabetes (70%), osteoporosis management (20%), and transgender healthcare services (5%+). Responsibilities encompass both in-person consultations and telehealth visits. The anticipated patient volume is approximately 16 patients per day, consisting of 4-6 new consultations and follow-up appointments. The EMR system used is EPIC. The credentialing timeline is approximately 90 days from application submission. There are no on-call requirements.

Requirements

• Board Certification in relevant specialty.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association approved).
• Active California license.
