About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring EMTs to provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals, within the scope of state EMS regulations. The company provides emergency care and scheduled medical transports. Openings are listed in Oshkosh, Kaukauna, Menomonee Falls, Milwaukee, Mount Pleasant, Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Madison, Kenosha, Oak Creek, Burlington, Janesville, and Elkhorn. Superior Ambulance Service began in 1959 with one ambulance and is described as the Midwest’s largest independent, locally owned and operated emergency medical services provider. It employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses, and operates more than 500 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The company also provides critical care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation.

Requirements

NREMT certification or a current state license, or a license pending.
Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, and drug screening.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care appropriate to EMT training.
Transport patients safely and expediently, including accurately reading maps and identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients and accurately communicate their conditions to other medical professionals.
Write accurate reports describing patients’ conditions, medical histories, and treatment provided.
Provide documentation needed for billing.
Keep the vehicle sanitary and monitor its fluid levels and gauges.
