About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring EMTs to provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals, within the scope of state EMS regulations. The role supports both emergency response and scheduled medical transports. Openings are available in Allen Park, Detroit, Northville, Southfield, Taylor, Troy, and Warren. Superior Ambulance Service began in 1959 and is now the largest independent, locally owned and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. It employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses and operates more than 800 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The company also provides critical care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation.

Requirements

NREMT certification or a current state license; pending credentials are also accepted.
Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in varied conditions, including daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, and drug screening.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care within EMT training.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, using map-reading skills and accurately identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients appropriately and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
Prepare accurate written reports describing patients’ conditions, medical histories, and treatment provided.
Complete appropriate billing documentation.
Maintain vehicles in sanitary condition and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
