About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring EMTs in Kenosha and other listed Wisconsin locations. Founded in 1959, Superior is the largest independent, locally owned and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. The company employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, paramedics, and nurses and operates more than 500 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. It also provides critical care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation. EMTs provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. Superior provides care for emergencies and scheduled medical transports.

Requirements

NREMT certification or a current state license, or a license pending.
Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, and drug screening.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care within EMT training.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, including navigating by street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients and accurately convey their conditions to other medical professionals.
Prepare accurate written reports describing patient condition, medical history, and treatment provided.
Complete documentation needed for billing.
Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
