EMS Academy - EMT Class "Earn to Learn"
About The Position
The Empress EMS “Earn to Learn” Academy is a 12-week, state-approved EMT certification program. Participants complete an Emergency Medical Technology education program, pass cognitive and practical exams, and earn licensure to practice as an EMT in New York State. Empress EMS is the largest provider of EMS in the Hudson Valley region, providing both emergency and non-emergency patient transport. Upon passing the New York State exam, EMTs join the frontlines of Empress EMS, providing emergency treatment to the sick and injured. Empress EMS offers career paths for every EMT, with opportunities to grow into logistics, the community paramedic division, quality improvement, special operations, and the emergency communications center. EMTs may also take advantage of the Empress EMS Paramedic Scholarship Program to advance toward becoming a paramedic.
Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company requirements.
- Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including drug screening, background check, and physical agility test (CPAT).
