About The Position

The EMS Training Officer is responsible for the education resource for operations of clinical and pre-hospital co-worker education systems at Parkview Health. Performs as key member of patient care report audit and review and the Peer Review process. Is a key member of the team in technology management, documentation, customer support, and technical assistance to assure the continuity of the pre-hospital patient care. Responsible for procurement for equipment and ongoing update and maintenance of the educational materials to assure all media and material is evidence-based and reviewed by clinical experts within Service Line specialty arena. Possesses the ability to conduct ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting issues and provides a solution toward resolution. Utilizes clinical support systems to assist in monitoring, auditing and assuring documentation integrity in PCR related to patient education. Can effectively collaborate with the EMS Manager and EMS Medical Director(s) to develop policies and procedures regarding pre-hospital education systems.

Requirements

  • Must maintain a current EMT-Paramedic license/certification
  • Must maintain a current Primary Instructor certification
  • Must maintain a current and valid Indiana driver's license
  • Must have three years experience as an EMT-Paramedic
  • Must have one year experience as a Primary Instructor
  • Must demonstrate insurability under PHS vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "Driver's exclusion", and/or other insurance modifications, and/or "High Risk" classification
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Paramedic Science or healthcare related field preferred; or a combination of three years pre- hospital care experience and demonstration of ability to consistently achieve results and assigned tasks significantly better than established measures.
