About The Position

Supervisor is responsible for ambulance operations and advanced life support emergency/non-emergency care at the paramedic level in the prehospital environment and during ambulance transport of patients. Ensures staffing, maintains equipment, assists in maintaining inventory of supplies, assists with training as required, screens ACRs for completeness and submits to billing. Coaches, counsels and appraises employees regarding performances and/or disciplinary matters. Monitors work environment and initiates efforts to ensure general employees satisfaction. Monitors the quality of work performed and intervenes, when appropriate, to correct or enhance services. Makes timely decisions considering the impact on patient care, financial resources, employee relations, public image and department concerns. Ensures appropriate and timely verbal and written communication to administration, departmental staff, and peers to facilitate flow and decision making.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • NC EMT-Paramedic certification and NREMT-P required.
  • Current certification in BCLS, BTLS, or PHTLS, ACLS.
  • Current valid NC drivers license with a good driving history.
  • Requires 3 years full time experience in a paramedic position.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • FirstHealth Specialty Care Transport Paramedic credentialing required within six months.
  • critical care preferred.
  • EMS leadership and or Communication Center (EMD) experience preferred.
