About The Position

Merakey is seeking an Employment Training Specialist (ETS) to join its team in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The ETS supports competitive employment as a primary outcome for consumers and provides vocational education, assessment, support, and liaison services to adults with serious mental illness. The goal is to place and maintain consumers in competitive employment in the community.

The ETS assesses consumers’ skills and employment interests, secures compatible community employment, provides on-site training, and continues follow-up support and services for both consumers and employers. The position pays $20 per hour and reports directly to the Employment Training Specialist Manager of Supported Employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with the IDD population.
• Must obtain ACRES certification within six months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assess consumers’ skills and employment interests.
• Secure compatible employment for consumers in the community.
• Provide on-site training.
• Provide continuing follow-up support and services to consumers and employers.
• Provide vocational education, assessment, support, and liaison services to adults with serious mental illness to help place and maintain them in competitive community employment.
