Bellflower Unified School District is seeking an Employment Training Specialist to connect students with meaningful real-world experiences that shape their futures. This role involves turning connections into career opportunities and helping students take their first steps toward college, career, and lifelong success. There are currently two vacancies: one 6.0 hours per day, 11-month position in the Secondary Education Department, and one 3.5 hours per day, 9-month position in the Special Education Department. Supplemental hours may be available but are not guaranteed. The Employment Training Specialist serves as the primary liaison between the District’s career development programs, students, and the local business community to develop, implement, and coordinate a full continuum of work-based learning (WBL) opportunities that prepare students for college and career success. This journey-level classification is responsible for coordinating work-based learning placements, employer partnerships, and student support activities within the District's career development programs. The incumbent performs a variety of specialized duties requiring excellent communication skills, independent judgment, and detailed knowledge of CTE pathways, grant compliance, and employer engagement strategies. This classification is distinguished from lower-level technician classes by its responsibility for program development, external partnership building, and district-wide coordination. It is distinguished from higher-level management classifications by the absence of supervisory authority over classified or certificated staff.
