Interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals? Way Finders is currently seeking a full-time bilingual (English/Spanish) Employment Support Services (ESS) Manager. The ESS Manager furthers our mission through the successful administration and supervision of the workforce development team throughout several programs. The ESS Program Manager is responsible for the successful management of all employment support services, including ensuring robust full-scope outreach, ongoing participant development and placement, active collaboration with internal stakeholders, and timely data analysis/reporting.

Requirements

  • 5 years' progressively responsible experience in housing/social services, workforce development, or a related role; a combination of experience plus a Bachelor’s degree may be a substitute
  • 1 year in a supervisory or lead position
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) verbal and written skills required
  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Office applications, and comfort learning new technologies
  • Clear, effective, and timely communication skills across all levels of internal staff, clients, constituents, and stakeholders
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as assigned and appropriate
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; reliable vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Employment Services programs to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery and achievement of contractual outcomes and performance goals
  • Oversee the employment planning process to actively and empathetically develop participant skills, by identifying strengths, addressing barriers, and maximizing self-sufficiency
  • Manage participant intake, assessment, enrollment, referral management, caseload distribution, and orientation processes to ensure services are delivered in accordance with program requirements and established timelines
  • Oversee the planning, promotion, and facilitation of training and workshops
  • Ensure that program staff develop sustainable employer relationships through regular follow-up and retention support activities
  • Plan and facilitate regular, productive team meetings
  • Ensure monthly reporting and billing for services delivered is processed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure all database and participants records are entered and updated with accuracy in a timely manner; deliver reports as required
  • Perform audits to ensure all applicable rules, regulations, and standards are met; respond to requests for information from auditors, other departments, or funding sources in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal staff and departments, employers, external providers, community groups, funding sources, and other workforce development-related departments or agencies
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and assistance to staff within and across departments on program guidelines, processes, resource availability, and in the resolution of complex matters
  • Proactively identify and inform management/leadership of any issues that may adversely affect the program, department, or organization
  • Remain current on workforce development trends and services to ensure maximum benefit to participants
  • Ensure new employees are trained in accordance with training plans for new staff members and that existing employees are provided with refreshers and receive retraining when there are performance concerns; evaluate and make process improvements based on feedback
  • Evaluate and provide timely feedback to staff on performance-related matters; assess staff members’ strengths and developmental needs; implement performance plans to ensure the development and/or maintenance of necessary skills
  • Hire new/replacement staff in an efficient and fair manner, following recruiting process guidelines
