Assists individuals in exploring and concretizing their educational and employment related aspirations. Services include customized care through a comprehensive vocational assessment, individual and group counseling and linkages to the business community, broadening opportunities for clients. The Employment Specialist conducts assessments to identify employment and educational needs. They collaborate with individuals to create individualized, person-centered treatment plans and document clients' progress during treatment. They use Motivational Interventions to assist clients in meeting their goals and moving along their paths to recovery, utilizing stage-wise interventions. The role establishes rapport with employers in the community to develop a network to provide employment opportunities. The Employment Specialist maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards and participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned. Additional duties may be required, including supporting individuals with linking and engaging with natural or community supports, developing crisis plans, responding to crisis situations, providing skills teaching (housing, transportation, nutrition, social skills, safety, problem-solving), providing intensive skill-building interventions for self-management, self-advocacy, health and well-being, relapse prevention, and using community resources, and participating in family education and support activities.
