Assist job seekers to overcome barriers to obtain and maintain competitive employment. This role involves engaging individuals with complex needs, establishing trusting relationships, and guiding them towards recovery and competitive employment. The specialist will utilize best practices, maintain accurate documentation, assess and address complex needs using Motivational Interviewing skills, and assist individuals with benefits and earnings reporting. They will also provide education and support to family members and employers, develop career plans, conduct job development and placement activities, and offer individualized follow-along supports to ensure employment retention. Outreach services will be provided to individuals who may disengage, with timely interventions for individual and employer concerns. Collaboration with internal staff and outside providers is essential, as is meeting department efficiency goals and demonstrating the values of current employment service best practices. Punctual and consistent attendance, adherence to ethical conduct, embracing diversity, and performing other duties as assigned are also key aspects of this role.
