About The Position

S:US is seeking an Employment Specialist for our Families with Children shelter located in Brooklyn. This position is located in Brooklyn, NY. The Employment Specialist will provide vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all team members. They will be responsible for charting client services, creating service plans, and ensuring revisions as participant needs change. The role also involves advocating for participants, creating monthly spreadsheets of tenant employment status, following up with employed tenants, and participating in team meetings and supervision.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to assist adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
  • Evening hours are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Visits clients in their home and other settings required.
  • Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services.
  • Provides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational service provision.
  • Performing routine clinical services as a member of the Team.
  • Responsible for charting client services.
  • Responsible Vocational portion or all of creating the service plan.
  • Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team members.
  • Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change.
  • Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible.
  • Responsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment status.
  • Follow-up quarterly with all employed tenants.
  • Assist with making monthly contact with tenant as needed.
  • Participate in bi-weekly monthly meeting.
  • Participate in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
