We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Legal Assistant to join our growing plaintiff-side employment law team in New Jersey. This full-time, onsite position is ideal for a professional who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment while providing exceptional support to attorneys and clients. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and strong client service. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and support the day-to-day management of employment law matters.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a legal office, law firm, or professional administrative environment preferred.
  • 1–3 years of legal assistant, administrative assistant, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting litigation or employment law matters is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management/document management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and responsive communication with clients via phone, email, and video conference.
  • Assist attorneys with the preparation, formatting, proofreading, and organization of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Prepare and organize documents for court filings, discovery, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other case-related proceedings.
  • Manage and maintain electronic case files, records, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor attorney calendars, appointments, deadlines, and case-related events.
  • Assist with state and federal court filings and maintain accurate filing records.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Enter and maintain accurate case information within the firm’s case management system.
  • Assist attorneys with scheduling, document collection, case preparation, and other administrative tasks.
  • Track outstanding items and follow up with clients, attorneys, and other parties as needed.
  • Provide general administrative and legal support to attorneys and the broader legal team.
