About The Position

enVision Community Living is seeking passionate Employment Facilitators to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. This full-time, permanent role involves working with a caseload of individuals, their staff, and stakeholders to secure meaningful, competitive, paid employment opportunities within the community that align with their personal goals. The position includes providing case management, utilizing assessment tools to identify individual interests and aptitudes, and assisting individuals in their pursuit of employment based on person-centered plans. A key aspect of the role is fostering relationships with support networks and the community to enhance positive social roles for those served.

Requirements

  • High School Education (Grade 12) or equivalency is required.
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5F (Full) Driver's License and access to vehicle, willingness to transport person supported required.
  • Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, with a clear Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registry Check. Document will be considered current if obtained no more than 3 months prior to start of employment.
  • Core Competencies: Advocacy, building relationships, championing change and innovation, facilitating growth and development, inclusive leadership, problem solving and decision making, resilience, resource management, strategic thinking, valuing EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion).
  • Demonstrate an understanding of legal and ethical standards related to confidentiality, professional conduct and practice.
  • Familiar with laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the disability support sector.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail required, in order to complete required documentation.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to listen to persons supported, and understand their needs.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability, with attention to detail.
  • Maintain sensitivity to individuals’ supported cultural, religious and/or political backgrounds.
  • Uphold strong morals and ethics, and maintain a commitment to privacy dignity and respect.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team-setting, and adapt to changing situations.

  • Experience, education, or training in the Disability Sector will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a caseload of people served, their staff, and stakeholders to provide meaningful, competitive, paid employment opportunities within their community that align with their individual goals and dreams.
  • Provide Case Management for job-seekers.
  • Use various assessment tools to help individuals identify interests, values, aptitudes, and lifestyle factors, and data analysis on how that would relate to employment.
  • Assist individuals in the pursuit of employment based on their preferences and person-centered plans.
  • Play an active role in fostering opportunities for the development of relationships with support networks and the community to increase positive social roles.
  • Interact with community employers and hiring personnel, family members, staff and government agencies.
  • Travel within the community.
  • Complete required documentation using computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail.
