Bring your career development expertise to a role that helps people in our community move into work that lasts. We’re looking for a client-centred and results-driven Employment Counsellor to join our WorkBC Employment Services team at the Guildford Centre. If you’re motivated by helping people identify their strengths, work through barriers and reach their employment goals, we want to hear from you! Reporting to the Assistant Manager, WorkBC Employment Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sustained employment outcomes across all three service delivery channels — Outreach, Virtual and WorkBC Centres. This includes conducting employability and formal needs assessments, developing collaborative return-to-work action plans, and providing case management, job coaching, follow-up support and referrals for clients seeking sponsored training or other long-term interventions. The role also involves administering and tracking financial supports in accordance with WorkBC policy and eligibility criteria, assisting clients through the application process for skills training, PBLMT, JCP, wage subsidy and self-employment, and building strong community connections to market clients and promote the program. Additionally, the Employment Counsellor will maintain accurate ICM data entry and record keeping, and meet the performance measurement, service level and outcome targets set by the funder. This position requires some work outside of regular office hours.
