About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is hiring individuals with community workforce connections. This position supports incarcerated individuals in preparing for successful reentry by providing job readiness training, resume development, and career placement support. Also, coordinates employer engagement, job matching, and pre-release interview opportunities. Ensuring that Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) participants transition into meaningful employment upon release.

Requirements

• Workforce development principles, employer recruitment strategies, and job readiness programming
• Applicable Federal and State Laws, regulations, and procedures, including the Labor Department of Economic Security, ADCRR, and Arizona Department of Administration rules, policies, and procedures
• Labor market information and in-demand industries and occupations
• Social, cultural, and economic conditions that impact the populations and area(s) served
• Community resources and support services
• Resume writing, interviewing techniques, and employment coaching
• Written and verbal communications
• Collecting and using data
• Problem-solving and decision-making
• Computers, associated software, and data systems
• Facilitation
• Build partnerships with employers, workforce boards, and reentry organizations
• Track and analyze employment data and outcomes
• Research and interpret policies and procedures
• Work with incarcerated individuals of diverse backgrounds
• Match and refer job seekers to employment opportunities
• Understand and maintain program compliance
• Travel as needed
• Attend regular on-site visits to correctional facilities
• Maintain strong and appropriate professional boundaries, particularly when interacting with at-risk populations

Nice To Haves

• At least one (1) year of experience in job placement, workforce development, or reentry programs
• Familiarity with ARIZONA@WORK, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services, and labor market trends

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized employment counseling, including resume development, interview preparation, and career planning
• Facilitates workshops on job search strategies, workplace expectations, and professional communication
• Conducts employment readiness assessments to identify strengths, interests, and barriers
• Coordinates with employers and workforce partners to identify job openings and career pathways that align with participant skills
• Matches qualified participants to appropriate employment opportunities, both pre- and post-release
• Develops individualized employment transition plans
• Connects participants with ARIZONA@WORK and other workforce resources for continued support after release
• Provides guidance on navigating barriers such as background checks and transportation
• Tracks participant outcomes such as employment readiness activities, job placement rates, and employer feedback
• Produces regular reports on employment outcomes to inform program improvements
• Maintains accurate documentation in accordance with ACI and ADCRR reporting requirements
• Builds relationships with workforce boards, community colleges, apprenticeship sponsors, and employers
• Represents ACI in job fairs, employer panels, and community workforce initiatives
• Supports collaborative initiatives that expand employment pathways for justice-involved individuals
• Drives on State business
• Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
