The role focuses on helping individuals discover their interests, skills, and employment goals, and creating meaningful daily schedules with their support network. A key aspect of the role is building healthy relationships with the individuals served, their co-workers, roommates, and neighbors. The Employment Coach is responsible for carrying out directives from management, ensuring service and support needs are met, and prioritizing health, safety, and quality of life. The role requires skills in job development and on-the-job support, guided by PBIS and Instructional Support Strategies, to assist individuals in securing competitive integrated jobs aligned with their skills and talents. The coach will also gather information for Individualized Support Plans (ISP) and utilize digital tools like Zoom and online platforms for remote services and job searching. Maintaining strong business relationships with employers and volunteer sites is also a responsibility.
