Responsible and caring individual needed to mentor and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities at their job sites, and job development for individuals seeking employment in the San Fernando Valley/Los Angeles County area. The Employment Coach role involves supporting individuals with job development, including resume building, practice interviews, learning new employability skills, transportation to and from work, and assistance with accessing their community. The role also focuses on helping individuals maintain employment and productivity, discover their interests, skills, and employment goals, and create a meaningful daily schedule by working with their circle of support. A primary goal is to develop friendly, professional, and respectful relationships with the individuals served, and to help them build positive relationships with their co-workers, roommates, and neighbors. The Employment Coach is responsible for carrying out directives from management, ensuring service and support needs are met, and providing mentorship with a priority focus on health, safety, and quality of life. The role requires skills in job development and on-the-job supports, guided by PBIS and Instructional Support Strategies, to assist individuals in securing competitive integrated jobs. The coach will also support managers in gathering information for Individualized Support Plans (ISP) and utilize digital tools for remote services and job searching.
