About The Position

Global Solutions Network (GSN), a federal government contracting firm, is seeking an Employment Authorization Specialist for a full-time, long-term position supporting their customer at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review, edit, and enter foreign national information from Form 829-1 and 2 and the Division of International Services (DIS) Portal into to the DIS database.
  • Prepare immigration packages for submission to the Office of National Security for pre-sponsorship vetting and renewal.
  • Confirm foreign national data require FNMS/ONS submission with the HHS Office of National Security.
  • Be responsible for Division’s property management and maintain required certifications.
  • Draft Electronic Notice of Actions (eNOAs) for Immigration Specialist (IS) review.
  • As assigned, collect NIH contract staff immigration documents for clearance by an Immigration Specialist (IS).
  • Work with staff in the waiver review area to include collecting and preparing all information for final adjudication; entering databases; creating files; verifying information; responding to general inquiries.
  • Maintain Key Contact information for NIH Institutes, Centers, and Offices (ICOs) and FDA Centers.
  • Follow-up with and confirm arrival dates with scientists, and adjust dates as needed.
  • Create new cases in DIS Databases for Immigration Specialist (IS) review and processing.
  • Prepare databases and reports for staff; perform various tracking and analysis of branch data to include spreadsheet preparation and interpretation.
  • Maintain physical office files, including filing, sorting, file retrieval and culling of file materials.
  • Maintain databases for tracking and monitoring activities.
  • Assist in the management, modifications, and enhancements of the Division’s Enterprise Database (nVISTAS and associated web portal).
  • Maintain a variety of computerized files and records.
  • Assist with web-site content updates.
  • Maintain peripheral hardware.
  • Prepare graphs, charts and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Provide software support and advice to office staff.
  • Liaison (or assist with communication) with external technology sources.
  • Perform testing and audits of software functionality.
  • Provide temporary workers with welcome and onboarding support.
  • Provide support with new Division hires to include workstation set up, network access, welcome communications, ensure inclusion in all needed Listservs/group, etc.
  • As needed, assist with Front Office support; covering the front desk as assigned; answering phones and taking messages; preparing and scanning petitions and/or other paperwork; shipping petitions; handling regular mailings.
  • Provide on-site services and support based on program requirements; telework flexibility may be available after three (3) months from onboarding.
