About The Position

As a key member of the advocacy team, this role focuses on the effective provision of HR and Employment Law support to a portfolio of members across a diverse range of industries. The position involves providing technical expertise and specialist advice on a broad range of IR/HR and employment rights, including terms and conditions of employment, disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy, bullying and harassment, and absence/sickness. The role also includes reviewing member policies for compliance, preparing written submissions for third-party hearings, representing member companies in negotiations and before third-party bodies, and maintaining strong business partnerships with members. Additionally, the Executive will contribute to Ibec publications and training courses, represent employer interests on external committees, participate in Ibec project teams, stay updated on employment law and HR developments, liaise with members regarding subscription payments, and promote membership development initiatives. The role is subject to change and requires a full driving license and access to a car.

Requirements

  • Primary degree required.
  • Human Resource/Industrial Relations/Employment Law related qualification preferable.
  • Full clean driving licence is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Employment Law and its application in unionised and non unionised workplaces.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Relations and Human Resource developments in Ireland and globally.
  • Understanding of the role of the third party industrial relations and employment institutions in Ireland.
  • Knowledge of competitive, regulatory and cost issues facing business in Ireland.
  • Experience in representing companies at 3rd party industrial relations institutions.
  • A sound working knowledge of the industrial relations institutions and trade union negotiations.
  • Experience interfacing regularly with senior company executives up to CEO level.
  • Experience working in a representative/consultancy capacity for business.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Strong advocacy and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate succinctly and utilise a range of communication methods.

Responsibilities
