The Employee Relations Specialist will assist with human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records required for policy development and investigations. This role will direct the company’s employee relations and communication strategies including progressive discipline, conflict resolution and employee satisfaction. The specialist will handle routine human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and refer complex matters to appropriate management staff. They will serve as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints, conduct initial interviews and gather information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns, and inform appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required. The role also involves assisting with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion, particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and diversity initiatives. Additionally, the specialist will conduct surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies and compensation, collect information and report results to the Human Resources Director, and maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO and human resources. Assistance will be provided in the preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports including EEO-1, organizational charts, and employee handbooks. The role includes conducting exit interviews, summarizing findings, and discussing trends and concerns with senior management.
