About The Position

Hawaii State Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Professional to serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees. This role provides guidance on employee relations matters including workplace concerns, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and corrective action processes. The Employee Relations Professional will administer and execute HSFCU's employee relations program to support organizational objectives, workplace culture, and regulatory compliance. This includes conducting workplace investigations, analyzing findings, and developing recommendations for fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes. Additionally, the role coordinates the annual coaching and performance management programs to strengthen accountability, communication, employee engagement, and workplace effectiveness. This is achieved by maintaining resources, toolkits, and communications that drive program awareness and participation. The position also contributes to program enhancements by using data, trends, and employee insights to identify opportunities, mitigate risk, and recommend strategies that strengthen the employee experience and amplify organizational success. This position is located at our HSFCU Headquarters in Downtown Honolulu.

Requirements

4+ years of experience in employee relations, performance management, or a related human resources function.
Comprehensive knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, and compliance requirements related to workplace investigations and conflict resolution practices.
Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
Ensure confidentiality and exercise sound judgment handling sensitive information.
Strong understanding of employment regulations, labor laws, and compliance standards (such as EEOC, FMLA, HFLL and ADA).
Experience delivering training programs and conducting program analysis to make recommendations for enhancements.
Experience leveraging HR Information Systems (HRIS), performance management platforms, reporting tools and related technology applications.
Bachelor's degree.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
HR Professional certifications such as HRCI, SHRM.
Understanding of financial institution operations and applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Conducts impartial and thorough workplace investigations involving employee misconduct, policy violations, workplace concerns, and other employee relations matters.
Facilitates conflict resolution and mediation efforts to address workplace issues, strengthen working relationships, and promote constructive outcomes.
Ensures investigations, corrective actions, and related employee relations matters are documented accurately and maintained in accordance with organizational standards and legal requirements.
Administers and executes the organization's performance management and annual coaching programs, ensuring processes, timelines, and program objectives are consistently achieved.
Develops, maintains, and executes communication plans that promote awareness, understanding, participation, and accountability throughout performance management and coaching cycles.
Designs, develops, and maintains manager and employee resources, guides, templates, job aids, toolkits, FAQs, and training materials that support successful program execution.
Prepares correspondence, reports, presentations, and related materials to support employee relations program administration and informed decision-making by management.
Assists with the development and implementation of employee relations strategies, programs, policies, and procedures that align with organizational goals and values and support a positive, respectful, and high-performing workplace culture.
Ensures employee relations activities and employment practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and organizational requirements.
