About The Position

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium-ion polymer batteries and packs for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications. As an Employee/Labor Relations Specialist II, you will support employee and labor relations activities across LG Energy Solution production sites. This role will partner with diverse stakeholders, to lead an effective shop-floor communication, conduct labor relations trainings, manage labor-management relations, and ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 - 6 years of direct experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Strong legal knowledge of labor laws and regulations
  • Able to travel without legal restriction domestically and internationally on short notice at times to prepare and respond to any labor issues

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the automotive industry or a related industry is preferred
  • Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR) or labor relations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including Korea HQ to support labor/employee relations issues across LG Energy Solution production site
  • Lead shop-floor communication and engagement initiatives to foster a strong connection between the management and employees
  • Track, manage, and resolve employee pain-points identified through various on-site listening sessions and communication channels.
  • Support in designing and conducting Labor Relations training for all levels of management and supervisory personnel
  • Assist with employee complaints, workplace investigations, grievances, and disciplinary matters
  • Research collective bargaining, grievance history, and labor relations practices
  • Support in maintaining a consistent labor strategy across all departments
  • Assist with implementation and communication of contractual terms and labor agreements
  • Maintain case files, bargaining history, grievance records and other related documentation
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of corporate labor relations policies and training methodologies
  • Represent the Company at external forums and participate in committees as required
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
