About The Position

This is a part-time position for an RN II (24 hours). The role primarily involves weekdays, with occasional weekend and on-call responsibilities for phone triage related to SMH employee health bloodborne pathogen exposures and contagions. The position operates in a fast-paced environment, providing nursing care and immunizations for pre-employment requirements, annual health updates, vaccination clinics, work-related injuries and illnesses, and U of R employee contagion & exposures. Triage skills are essential for covering the Employee Health Call Center. The role requires excellent communication skills, a strong ability to prioritize tasks, and a collaborative approach to teamwork. Flexibility and excellent customer service skills are also necessary. Three years of RN experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the provision of proficient patient care inclusive of complex patients.
  • Assumes an expanded charge nurse role and assumes unit responsibility for orientation for new staff.
  • May assume the role of care coordinator for a given group of patients, monitoring and evaluating patient care based on the unit standards of care.
  • Actively involved in unit/service activities, contributing to outcomes from those groups.
  • Primarily weekdays, occasional weekend & on-call responsibilities for phone triage related to SMH employee health bloodborne pathogen exposures and contagions.
