About The Position

The EMIS Coordinator is responsible for the collection, validation, maintenance, analysis, and reporting of student, staff, course, financial, and program data required by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW), federal agencies, and other regulatory entities. The position ensures the accuracy, integrity, security, and timely submission of district data that impacts funding, accountability measures, compliance requirements, and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Demonstrated experience with Ohio EMIS reporting.
  • Thorough knowledge of EMIS reporting requirements, timelines, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with student information systems and state reporting software.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA requirements.
  • Successful completion of criminal background checks and all district employment requirements.
  • Knowledge of Ohio EMIS requirements and reporting processes.
  • Knowledge of student information systems and data management practices.
  • Ability to interpret legislation, regulations, and reporting guidance.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify discrepancies.
  • Ability to prepare clear reports and documentation.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, administrators, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all district EMIS reporting activities and submissions.
  • Monitor and maintain student, staff, course, program, attendance, enrollment, discipline, assessment, and graduation data.
  • Validate and reconcile district data prior to state reporting deadlines.
  • Review and resolve EMIS errors, warnings, and data discrepancies.
  • Serve as district administrator for EMIS-related applications and student information systems.
  • Coordinate student and staff reporting requirements with building and district personnel.
  • Monitor data affecting state funding, accountability ratings, graduation requirements, and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain district SSID, ODDEX, and related state data systems.
  • Prepare reports and analyses for district administrators, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and maintain written procedures for district data collection and reporting.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to district personnel regarding data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with curriculum, special education, human resources, transportation, food service, technology, and treasurer departments to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Coordinate state and federal reporting requirements beyond EMIS as assigned.
  • File required waivers and state documentation.
  • Monitor resident student reporting and community school enrollment data.
  • Serve as liaison between the district, SPARCC, ODEW, and other reporting agencies.
  • Attend professional development activities related to EMIS and educational data reporting.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all student and staff information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
