About The Position

The Emerging Store Manager position is a leadership role focused on driving the financial performance and operational excellence of a retail facility. This role involves supervising and developing management and hourly associates, ensuring compliance with company policies, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. The manager will be responsible for sales, profit goals, expense control, customer service, and merchandise presentation. Requirements

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, retail management, financial management and 2 years' experience in a management role within a retail, operations, or distribution environment, with responsibility for supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors, managing workloads, and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees.
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in a management role within a retail, operations, or distribution environment, with responsibility for supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors, managing workloads, and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees.
  • 2 years' general management experience, including responsibility for financial accountability.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, successful completion of a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for management and hourly Associates in the Facility by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, evaluating performance, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
  • Upholds the Company's Open Door Policy by meeting with Associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing policies, and providing resolutions.
  • Ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures by holding Associates and managers accountable, analyzing reports, implementing asset protection and safety controls, maintaining quality assurance, overseeing safety and operational reviews, and developing action plans.
  • Initiates, directs, and participates in community outreach programs, encouraging Associates and managers to serve as good community members and representing the Company externally.
  • Drives the financial performance of the Facility by ensuring sales and profit goals are achieved, controlling expenses, developing plans to correct deficiencies, overseeing budgets, and analyzing economic trends.
  • Models, enforces, and provides direction on proper Customer service approaches and techniques to ensure Customer needs are successfully resolved.
  • Directs the management team in facility operations and communicates with Associates about facility operations, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, proper signing, in-stock and inventory levels, and budgeting/forecasting sales.
  • Builds high-performing teams, embraces differences, creates a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected, and creates opportunities for all associates to thrive.
